Murukan Kattakada is one of the most popular poets of Kerala. He is widely recognized for his poem, “Kannada”. Murukan Kattakada has claimed enormous recognition among Kerala’s youngsters, mostly owing to his own typical style of poetry recital.
Murukan Kattakada did his basic education from Kurudamkode. With a graduation from Christian College, Kattakada and a post graduation from Government Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram both in the stream of Economics, he has also done his M.Phil. from the University of Kerala.
Ever since 1992, Murukan Kattakada has been involved in teaching as a profession. From 1998 he is working as the senior Economics teacher at SMV School, Thiruvananthapuram.
His first noted work was “Unaraatha Pathmatheerthangal” written in the year 1999 on the backdrop of a murder that happened at the Pathmatheertha Kulam, Thiruvananthapuram.
The book, “Kannada” was popular with the masses and within 1 ½ months since its publication, the next edition had to be issued. The 6th edition of “Murugan Kattakayude Kavithakal” that was published just 3 months before is out of stock in the bookstores.
